I am an image-maker, researcher, educator and PhD candidate at University of Helsinki. I completed a practice-led Masters by Research at IADT Dún Laoghaire in 2018 on the role of the image in the transformation of urban topographies in the context of globalised production and neoliberal governance. In addition, I hold a qualification in Visual Education and while residing in Ireland taught photography at the PhotoMuseum Ireland (originally known as Gallery of Photography) and Dún Laoghaire Further Education Institute in Dublin. I currently teach photography courses at the Espoo Adult Education Centre in Tapiola near Helsinki, and in the past have taught at Aalto University in Espoo. In 2021 I received funding from the City of Helsinki for my research on how the changing urban landscape of Helsinki is mediated through screens and networked images and in 2022 I received funding form the City of Espoo for my visual based investigation on how Metro West (LänsiMetro) is changing the landscape of Espoo.

I started my professional career as a software developer working for large global based corporations and that experience is a key influence in my work, which has been exhibited in various places in both Ireland and Finland. I also do extensive academic research with my projects and am interested in how the photographic image is deployed to support certain views of the world through ideology. I have received funding for my both my research and photographic work in Finland. I maintain a blog on my research, which I update a few times a year and it can be accessed here.

I am represented by The Copper House Gallery in Dublin, Ireland where you can view a collection of my work.
